The European Commission’s Directorate-General for Research and Innovation (DG RTD) together with the Strategic Working Group Food Systems of the Standing Committee on Agricultural Research (SCAR SWG FS) will soon launch the Partnership on Sustainable Food Systems for People, Planet & Climate. This partnership will provide an overarching platform to support the transition to sustainable food systems and will connect national, regional, European and global research and innovation programmes to deliver co-benefits for nutrition, climate, circularity, and communities.

Launched in June 2022, the EU funded project FOODPathS aims to develop the ‘Prototype Partnership for Sustainable Food Systems (SFS) for people, planet, and climate’. The Prototype will serve as the first version of how the future partnership will function, but it will also accompany the future partnership at its start by providing methodologies, (digital) tools, programs, working protocols, and a dedicated multi-level, inclusive, governance model.

FOODPathS brings together 17 partners across Europe from funding organisations, public institutions, academia, research and education organisations, private and farming sectors (including SMEs), philanthropic organisations, NGOs, and not-for-profit organisations.
